So now they have to pump up the first half of the this season with real hits or end up expect holdouts to buy-in at the very end. I think a lot more people are going to be hesitant to prepay for an entire season when it could be as bad as season 5. Season 5 may have been a tipping point IMO for PBA. It will have to go on sale at some point, maybe xmas. I was waiting for season 5 to go on sale. That's the beauty of Steam, they can update as often as they like, immediately, and there's no cost. Blame Sony and Microsoft for having exorbitant fees for any and all updates to a game. I feel bad for those that still play on console, as they only update it twice a year now. I wish they'd ditch the DX9 version of TPA on PC so they could focus on lighting issues with DX11 better. They can always add devices later once they get a handle on making it work well now. With Stern Pinball Arcade, they've scaled back on how many devices it can work on, which is a good thing. Hopefully they got their licensing issues worked out for WMS/Bally so this doesn't happen again anytime soon. Nobody wanted 'em, and there were too many. I absolutely think FarSight shot themselves in the foot this past season with the Premiere tables. Still, there's a significant difference in how tables like Creature and TZ play now. The bad news is no art or graphics were changed, only things on the programming end and with ball collisions. I'm part of the Head 2 Head beta and those fixes have been available to us to try, nothing but good things to say about 'em. There are a tremendous amount of bugs and fixes FarSight has been able to get a handle on during their "month off" between seasons 6 and 7. My guess, season 7 will be a lot more interesting. IMO that kind of pinch, on a small company, can get a better response, simply because they can't probably afford to have two dud seasons in a row. In the end that has to have a toll on them, meaning less sales. I can't imagine anyone had any of those released last season at the top or even the middle of any 'must have list'. My only hope, less if no more of these lame duck gotliebs, there were any number of better games that were not licensed. I think under those conditions, I'm glad to have them in the hobby and happy to for the most part with most of what they do. Its a very small company by gaming standards, and they have a VERY narrow niche. Unfortunately I'm, as a steam user, on the positive end of that, as we get our release earliest and without delay. IMO they are spread a bit thin, they seem to be grappling with the split focus and getting their hands around difficulties of so many formats without any improvement of getting timely and joint release across platforms. Hated SPA until I had a graphic card update and its playable now, still passed on the season. I think half of the games are worth owning, the EM choices are more interesting, and the older 'classic SS' seem great. I would have bought in but actually won a free copy during the twitch steam. I usually buy in after the first 'must have' game of the season, and in this case none of them were that for me until SOF. Season 6 was the first I passed on entirely. Whoa Nellie!
